The TMTS International Press Conference was personally opened by Mr. Patrick P. Chen, Chairman of TMBA. He outlined how Taiwan's machine tool industry is utilizing the high-density cluster of the "60 km Golden Valley" to transform itself into a "Collective Intelligence". During the session, he officially announced the central theme of this year's fair: "AI-powered sustainable manufacturing". Leading manufacturers took part in the conference. Including Tongtai, YCM, Yinsh and HLJH to share their insights and jointly demonstrate Taiwan's robust capabilities in the transition from precision components to intelligent machines through DX (Digital Transformation) and GX (Green Transformation).

Opening by the Chairman

Collective intelligence in the world's densest machine tool cluster. TMBA Chairman Patrick P. Chen emphasized that Taichung, which is said to be the birthplace of Taiwan's machine tool industry, has developed into the world's densest industrial cluster. This refers to the "60 km Golden Valley". This region combines a very dense supply chain for the subject with the necessary flexibility for vertical integration and rapid response, creating a unique "collective intelligence".

Six main highlights of TMTS 2026

  • Digital transformation (DX): Integrating intelligent transformation with deep AI technology.
  • Green transformation (GX): Focus on saving energy, monitoring carbon footprint and building green supply chains.
  • AI demos: On-site demonstrations of digital twin and AI-supported intelligent navigation technologies.
  • Global forums: In-depth discussions on key industry trends, such as aerospace, semiconductors and robotics.
  • TMTS app: Enables a paperless, green trade fair experience with convenient digital navigation.
  • Digital treasure hunt: increasing visitor engagement through an interactive digital app.

Ecosystems and digital twins: Tongtai drives industrial co-creation forward

Lulu Yen, Executive Vice President of Tongtai (TT Group), spoke about the connection to the co-creation of ecosystems and explained that the alliance with YCM is based on the core concept of "two forces, one future" to promote industrial co-creation. This is to be achieved through ecosystem collaboration. This includes the integration of industrial resources with a focus on five key industries: Semiconductor, Aerospace, Tool & Mold, Energy and Automotive to provide highly efficient plug & play complete systems. AI and Digital Twin were the aspects of the demonstration to integrate the "Tongtai Line Management" (TLM) system with Nvidia-Omniverse to achieve accurate productivity forecasting and production line simulation. Precision components and green oil then represented the last mile for intelligence and sustainability.

Focus on sustainability: CO2 reduction and intelligent circular economy

Yinsh Precision (Yinsh), on the other hand, is the world's leading supplier of precision locknuts. Deputy CEO Jack Wu presented a 10-year roadmap for reducing CO2 emissions. Through its smart factory and the "CBAM Compliance Reporting" platform, Yinsh ensures that its products maintain the highest precision while complying with international trends for CO2 reduction, and Will Tseng, Managing Director of Hai Lu Jya He (HLJH), presented the AI platform "Smart Buy Oil", which can transform cooling lubricants (CL) from a traditional consumable into a data-driven service, as they emphasized. Through AI recommendations and a full circular economy model, HLJH helps users to increase tool life by 50 percent so that they can better move towards net-zero emission targets.

The conclusion of the TMTS International Press Conference

Taiwanese machine tool manufacturers thus see themselves as trusted global partners for sustainability. In this regard, the TMTS 2026 press conference sent a clear signal that the Taiwanese machine tool industry is no longer just a manufacturer of individual machines, but a strategic partner that can also provide AI methods and sustainable transformation opportunities. By harnessing the collective energy of the Dajianshan cluster, Taiwan is leading the global manufacturing industry into a new future of dual digital and green transformation.
